  • Improving Post-Insertion Implant Complications with Digital Occlusion Technology

In this course attendees will learn that excessive occlusal forces can lead to damaged teeth, fractured dental restorations, implant complications, and untoward patient responses following restorative treatment. Whether building a prosthetic case with analog or digital methods, problems at insertion, and sometimes soon after the patient uses their new prosthesis, are quite common in daily dental practice. Implementing one of the available Computerized Digital Occlusion technologies at implant case insert, to locate, target and remove excessive occlusal contact forces and time–premature contacts, helps minimize post-insertion occlusal complications for both the patient, AND the doctor. This presentation will detail the three available Digital Occlusion systems, and illustrate the many outcome improvements Digital Occlusion technology brings to implant case installation. Recently published research will showcase that Digital Occlusal technology reduced post-insert implant complications by 10 times over articulating paper insertions, validating Digital Occlusion technology controls destructive implant occlusal forces.

  • After successfully completing this course, attendees will be able to:

    • - Compare the differing digital occlusion technology options available for use in dental practice
    • - Discuss how digital occlusion technology measures occlusal forces and timing, and can guide insertion occlusal adjustments, thereby improving implant restorative longevity
    • - Identify how to install a precisely and measured occlusal force balance, with a protective low force profile that enhances restorative longevity, and improves patient acceptance to a newly installed occlusion
