Samantha Parad, DMD, RN: attended the University of Pennsylvania and entered the healthcare field as a registered nurse. She went on to attend Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and graduated summa cum laude. Through the completion of Harvard School of Dental Medicine’s general practice residency, she gained exposure to treating medically compromised patients at Massachusetts General Hospital. In addition to returning to academia as an Assistant Professor at Tufts, she practices at Franciscan Children’s Hospital. Dr. Parad was selected as a 2023 Massachusetts Dental Society 10 Under Ten Dentist, the national recipient of the 2023 ADEA/Gillette Hayden Memorial Foundation/AAWD Woman Dentist Scholarship, a 2024 Professional Member of the National Academies of Practice, the recipient of the Institute for Teaching and Learning 2024 Advancement of Women Faculty in Clinical Professions Scholarship, and a Crest + Oral-B “Closing America’s Smile Gap” Winner. Dr. Parad serves as a course director and a co-investigator for a $1.5 million Health Resources and Services Administration Grant dedicated to enhancing interprofessional education. Lastly, she serves on the Board of Directors for the American Association of Women Dentists and as the Secretary for the American Dental Education Association – Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Care Special Interest Group.
