  • Endodontics: What’s Possible, What’s New, What Endodontists Can Do for You


    In this course attendees will experience a detailed description of advanced methods to preserve compromised teeth otherwise destined for implant therapy. Attendees will confirm what cases can be treated with your current expertise and what cases should be referred to the endodontic specialist. This course will review some of the proven established modalities utilized in endodontics as well as the current technologies and techniques used by your endodontist. Attendees will learn why referring first to your endodontist for consultation should precede any other specialty referral.

    • - Determine and explore what endodontists can do for your patient
    • - Review the full scope of the endodontic referral for your patient before considering extractions and implants
    • - Recognize how and when to preserve teeth when treating radicular fractures
    • - List canal disinfecting procedures using ultrasonic, multisonic, and microfluidic laser technology
    • - Understand how endodontics can overcome and resolve common procedural complications on severely compromised teeth
    • - Discuss methods for immediate obturation of large canals and immature open apices
    • - Identify effective repair procedures on new and existing perforations
  • Speaker:

    Mario Abdennour, DMD: has held a faculty appointment as clinical instructor and lecturer at the Advanced Graduate Endodontic Program at Harvard School of Dental Medicine since 2000. He was the recipient of the part-time faculty award at Harvard where he teaches micro-surgical and non-surgical endodontics. Dr. Abdennour practices in the greater Boston area and lectures nationally and internationally in English, French and Spanish on precision-based endodontics.


    Moderator:

    Gerard Kugel, DMD;PhD: is an associate dean of research and a professor of at the department of prosthodontics and operative dentistry at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He also maintains a private practice in Boston, MA.
