Individuals identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning, intersex, agender/asexual/ally, two-spirit, and other affirmative ways to choose self-identity (LGBTQIA2S+) have historically struggled with access to oral health care. While public health efforts increasingly focus on reducing health disparities and increasing access to care, many areas still lack dental health equity for LGBTQIA2S+ individuals.

In this course the instructor will review LGBTQIA2S+ & DEI principles and best practices. Attendees will also have the opportunity to work in groups to brainstorm, share ideas and discuss best practices for inclusive and equitable oral health.

    • - Review LGBTQIA2S+ and DEI concepts and terminology
    • - Provide inclusive and equitable policies and practices to support LGBTQIA2S+ patients
    • - Develop LGBTQIA2S+ and DEI best practices to apply in your practice
