    Failure visits our practices in many forms and on many materials. In this course we will explore the forces that threaten our success and what options we have to address them. With a balance of hard and soft skills, Dr. Melkers will take attendees on a journey with patient stories and their cases in application. From single tooth to more advanced care, skills will be shared that can be put to use for all levels of clinicians.


    • - Learn to recognize critical parafunctional red flags and why they matter
    • - Appreciate the balance between function, parafunction & aesthetics
    • - Identify realistic management of destructive forces in restorative dentistry
    • - Understand how to evaluate destructive vs desirable occlusal contact

    Speaker:

    Michael Melkers, DDS, FAGD: is in private practice in Hanover, NH but impacts students, clinicians and patients worldwide. Dr. Melkers is a 1994 graduate of Marquette University School of Dentistry & currently serves as Visiting Faculty at Rīga Stradiņš University in Riga, Latvia and as Advisor and Visiting Faculty for The Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida. Dr. Melkers is a Fellow & Master of the Academy of General Dentistry and holds additional Fellowships in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the American College of Dentists. He maintains a private clinical practice in Hanover, NH with a focus on comprehensive adult restorative care. Dr. Melkers balances his professional time between clinical practice, teaching, publishing, and research.


    Moderator:

    Maritza Morell, DMD:  is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist, a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Public health Dentist. Dr Morell is the Mass Dental Society region six Trustee. She is a Senior Clinical Associate in Pediatric Dentistry at the Boston Children’s Hospital and the Harvard School of Dental Medicine since 1999. In addition, she owns 2 pediatric dentistry and orthodontics private practices in Andover and Lawrence, Massachusetts.

    • AUXILIARY STAFF: $45/session
    • STUDENT (DENTAL STUDENTS & RESIDENTS): FREE
    • (Students MUST register using your Student Email Address)

    Attendees will earn 2 CE per session.

  • Refunds can be made online up to 10 days prior to the live session. You will receive a full refund minus a $25 processing fee. There are no refunds less than 10 days out including cancellations due to illness, late arrivals or weather. Full refund will be given if your class is cancelled for any reason by MDS. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for processing. There is no refund for courses once the course begins. Registrants will be notified by e-mail if the course is cancelled.
