    This course presents an in-depth explanation of the CDC’s and OSHA’s guidelines for dental offices. We will review of the CDC guidelines for infection control in the dental healthcare setting, review OSHA’s blood borne pathogen standard’s guidelines, discuss safety data sheets (“SDS”) and Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (“GHS”) hazard statements, and general office safety standards. We will also talk about strategies to improve infection control in the office in a practical manner.

  • After successfully completing this course, you will be able to:

    • - Discuss the CDC and OSHA guidelines for dental office safety
    • - Understand why these guidelines are important for the health and safety of the dental staff and the general public
    • - Identify potential areas of risk in a dental office
    • - Implement policies and procedures to mitigate the risk in the dental office

    Lisa Kane, DMD: President and Owner of Dental Office Compliance of New England (DOC4NE)

    Lisa assists dental practices in complying with the myriad of regulations and best practices promulgated by State dental boards, OSHA and the CDC. Lisa conducts office walk-throughs; creates customized plans and protocols for dental offices; teaches infection control, medical emergency and risk management classes; and provides consulting services to help offices improve their quality care and overall efficiency. Prior to forming DOC4NE, she practiced dentistry in the Greater Boston Area for over 20 years.
