    Don’t Be a One-Trick Pony: Restorative Selections for Successful Outcomes

    Ever wonder why some restorations last and others don’t? Don’t rely on luck for the longevity of your restorations; it could negatively impact your reputation and productivity. This course will discuss the characteristics of various restorative materials and present how, when, and why they should be used for the most favorable long-term outcomes. Proper handling and maintenance of various restorative materials will be described. This course will set you up for success and you will feel confident when planning, selecting, placing, and maintaining your restorations.


    • -Demystify the indications of the various types of composites
    • - Utilize the technique for placing difficult anterior composites with predictability
    • - Discover: To glass ionomer or not to glass ionomer? You will get the answer!
    • - Describe the indications and handling of various indirect materials
    • - Understand how the oral environment can promote longevity or failure of various restorations

    Speaker:

    Pamela Maragliano-Muniz, DMD: was a dental hygienist before earning her DMD from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and her certificate in Advanced Prosthodontics from UCLA School of Dentistry. She is a board-certified prosthodontist, the Chief Editor for DentistryIQ.com and Editorial Director for Dental Academy of Continuing Education. In addition, she is a Chief Development Officer for Cellerant Consulting Group, a faculty member at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, maintains a private practice in Salem, MA. She lectures internationally and is extensively published. Her passion for prevention has stayed with her throughout her career and in 2010, Dr. Maragliano-Muniz was awarded the 2010 Adult Preventive Care Practice of the Year by the American Dental Association.


    Moderators:

    Carl McManama, DDS: is a Professor in the Department of General Dentistry and course director for several courses at Boston University’s Goldman School of Dental Medicine where he has taught since 1976. In addition to his teaching, he has maintained a private practice in Cambridge, Massachusetts for the past forty-five years. Dr. McManama has presented over 100 CE courses on topics related to restorative and operative dentistry to all levels of dental audiences.

    • NON-ADA MEMBER: $99/session
    • AUXILIARY STAFF: $45/session
    • STUDENT (DENTAL STUDENTS & RESIDENTS): FREE
    • (Students MUST register using your Student Email Address)


    Attendees will earn 2 CE per session

Cancellation Policy
  • Refunds can be made online up to 10 days prior to the first live session. You will receive a full refund minus a $25 processing fee. There are no refunds less than 10 days out including cancellations due to illness, late arrivals or weather. Full refund will be given if your class is cancelled for any reason by MDS. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for processing. There is no refund for courses once the course begins. Registrants will be notified by e-mail if the course is cancelled. The e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address used to register.
