    “Sole (Practitioner)” Confessions of a Small-Town Dentist


    This course will discuss current labor shortages affecting small dental practices. It will offer applicable clinical and business advice to reduce hardships being faced by small and start-up dental practices. The course will examine current labor trends within the dental field and cover policy contributions and continuous work by organized dentistry in the current business environment.

    • -Discuss overall staffing and business models in the small practice field
    • -Understand the trends of the current labor shortage of auxiliary personnel
    • -Identify which tasks are allowed to be delegated and performed by auxiliary personnel
    • -Apply existing technology to improve workflow
  • Yvette Glina, DDS received her dental education and training over twenty years ago in New York City. Shortly thereafter she returned to a small town in New England where she grew up to start up a family dental practice which today serves thousands of patients. She is passionate about supporting small practices which she believes are the backbone of America’s dentistry. She understands the dynamics of small practice start ups and the difficulties growing the practice in today’s challenging and changing environments and is excited to share her perspective and research with other dentists. Recently, she became a member of board of directors of the American Association of Women Dentists.
