    Volunteers at The Greater Boston Food Bank play a critical role in helping end hunger. We are seeking 15 volunteers to support the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), a federal program that helps low-income seniors access healthy food; prepare Brown Bag boxes for seniors; and assist with additional food-sorting projects.


    Please review our safety protocols below:  

    • Handwashing is suggested before starting the volunteer activity and at the conclusion of their shift.
    • Group size is limited to 15* or fewer people per shift. *Group size may vary (+/-) depending on available space
    • Minimum age is 16. (16 & 17 years of age must have a chaperone attending)
    • Hand sanitizer is available onsite.
    • Workstations are sanitized and disinfected at the beginning and end of each volunteer shift.
    • If you are sick, please reschedule your volunteer shift.

    • Closed-toe shoes are required.
    • ***PARKING***: GBFB does provide parking on a first come basis while visiting 70 South Bay Avenue. Our secure parking lot is located on the corner of Topeka and South Bay. Heading down Topeka, when arriving at South Bay Avenue, turn LEFT and the lot entrance is halfway down the block. There is a gate that will rise upon entry. We provide tokens for exit after the visit. Please do not park in the clinic parking lot (to the right) as you will be towed. Our lot closes at 4:30 pm. Any remaining cars may be towed at the owner’s expense.
    • No weapons or firearms are permitted on GBFB property
